Double Nickel Horse Show Classic - July 28 2007

Shannon Simms of Roanoke, judged the show. The classes ranged from Fit & Showmanship, to Bareback riding, to Rail work, to Trail classes and Gymkhana Classes.

Aspen Black dazzeled us all with her creativity, in the costume class, entering as Maid Marian and Robin Hood. "Thomas" (the cat) was the Meet-n-Greet Crowd control Mascott, and official taste tester of hot dogs. CLICK HERE for official show results.

Our Mission:
Find Horses in need, provide them with the care they require to improve, train, and love into "pocket ponies" for young riders. We are a loving not-for-profit group that rescues animals. We then provide solid horse husbandry and horsemanship skills, through holistic, gentle tools. To promote youth showing events and the overall prosparity of the equine industry through education and example.

Coaching
Lessons are typically one-on-one or limited to small groups. Our technique places a strong emphasis on the "feel" associated with the connection to one's horse. Students need to be empathtic and to understand the mind of the horse before executing aids intended to control the animal. Showmanship, Horsemanship & Equitation lessons are available.

Establishing a strong relationship with one's horse through education, patience and confidence is of paramount importance. Our students are successful in the show ring not because they are driven to win, but because they have been given the tools to ride well on any given day, and prepared for any task in the show ring. Preparation is the key to winning.
